Mac O'Grady and Ian Davison
How it all started...
My golf coaching academy has been a life long project as during my career I have developed my experiences with the worlds best. I have been fortunate to have had many golf lessons from Michael Bannon (Rory McIlroy's Coach) developing my own golf as a young junior. The next phase of my journey was to learn from David Leadbetter. Both instructors influenced and inspired by the legendary coach Mr. Mac O'Grady himself.
I first met Mr. Mac O'Grady (PGA Tour Player & Coach) in 2006 when I was invited to attend one of his 3 day schools in England. As a young coach it inspired a huge work ethic and commitment to improvement. I went on to attend many more schools in Europe which would include PGA & European tour coaches and players. There was no doubt that during those schools, we were witnessing something special. This great man not only had the best swing on the PGA Tour but could explain it in-depth better than anyone in golf. He has influenced modern golf instruction more than any coach or researcher ever will. He is truly ahead of his time for all the research his has done the last 40 years.
I was fortunate to host Mr. O'Grady at my academy in March and July 2022 where we worked together and I observed him teach some of my long time clients. It was incredible to see how he operated in my academy and taught everyone.
I have had so many experiences through Mac that will encourage and inspire me forever. He is a huge reason why as a coach it has given me an in-depth understanding of how and why golf swings work and has given me the skills to coach anyone at any level or ability.
