Founder, Ian Davison Performance Golf

For 20 years, I've helped golfers understand their swings, improve their ball striking and develop greater confidence in their game.

My coaching is built around a question

What is causing this golfer's inconsistency, and what needs to change to make improvement repeatable?

Many golfers come to me having tried lessons, watched countless videos and worked hard without making lasting progress. They have plenty of information, but little clarity about what applies to their swing. My role is to make sense of it—to identify the underlying issue and give them a clear direction.

Experience that shapes every lesson

My development as a coach has been strongly influenced by my mentorship with Mac O'Grady and the depth of his work on the golf swing. That experience helped shape how I observe movement, assess technique and connect what a golfer does with the shots they produce.

At my Vancouver-area academy, I combine that experience with TrackMan data and video analysis. We look at how the club is delivered, how the body moves and how those movements influence strike, direction and distance. The numbers help us measure what is happening; understanding the movement helps us determine why.

The Zero Adjustment Philosophy

Over two decades of coaching, I've seen how golfers develop compensations to make their swings work. Those adjustments can produce excellent shots, but they can also make timing and consistency difficult to maintain.

That observation inspired my Zero Adjustment Philosophy: organise the swing so it requires fewer compensations on the way to impact.

The aim is to help you develop movement you can repeat, understand what you are working towards and build the feel to take it onto the course.

Understand. Simplify. Perform.

For the first time in my life, I truly understand the mechanics of the golf swing. He has brought the joy back to my game and given me a sense of pride in how I play.

A clear starting point

Our work begins with a Performance Evaluation. We'll discuss your game and goals, assess your swing using TrackMan and video, and identify the changes that would make the greatest difference. You'll leave with a clearer understanding of your swing and my recommendation for how to move forward.
